Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by LKPD on students’ learning independence and mathematical problem-solving ability. This research is a QuasiExperimental Design using a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design involving two groups. The population of this study consisted of all students of class VII A and VII B at SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample consisted of class VII A as the experimental group, which was taught using the Discovery Learning model assisted by LKPD, and class VII B as the control group, which was taught using conventional learning. Data collection techniques included essay tests to measure mathematical problem-solving ability and questionnaires to measure students’ learning independence. The instruments had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted through prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity) and hypothesis testing using MANOVA.
