Abstract

ABSTRAK Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa masih menjadi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kondisi tersebut adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong siswa untuk membangun pengetahuan secara mandiri dan aktif. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah model pembelajaran Prediction, Observation, and Explanation (POE) berbantuan e-modul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran POE berbantuan e-modul terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment berbentuk posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Tanjung Agung Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas satu kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan model POE berbantuan e-modul dan satu kelas kontrol yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Data dianalisis menggunakan Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 setelah memenuhi uji prasyarat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran POE berbantuan e-modul berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa secara simultan, dengan nilai F(2,36) = 14,006 dan Sig. = 0,000 (< 0,05). Hasil uji univariat juga menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis (F = 27,355; Sig. = 0,000) dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (F = 15,015; Sig. = 0,000). Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran POE berbantuan e-modul berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. ABSTRACT The low levels of students’ mathematical problem-solving and mathematical critical thinking skills remain a challenge in mathematics learning. One factor contributing to this issue is the use of instructional approaches that do not actively engage students in the learning process. Therefore, an instructional model that encourages active participation and knowledge construction is needed. One alternative is the Prediction, Observation, and Explanation (POE) learning model assisted by an e-module. This study aimed to determine the effect of the POE learning model assisted by an emodule on students’ mathematical problem-solving and mathematical critical thinking skills. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students at MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Tanjung Agung in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample included one experimental class that received instruction through the POE learning model assisted by an e-module and one control class that received conventional instruction. Data were collected using mathematical problem-solving and mathematical critical thinking tests. The data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) at a significance level of 0.05 after fulfilling the prerequisite tests. The results showed that the POE learning model assisted by an emodule had a significant effect on students’ mathematical problemsolving and mathematical critical thinking skills simultaneously, as indicated by F (2,36) = 14.006 and Sig. = 0.000 (< 0.05). The univariate test results also revealed significant effects on mathematical critical thinking skills (F = 27.355; Sig. = 0.000) and mathematical problem-solving skills (F = 15.015; Sig. = 0.000). Therefore, it can be concluded that the POE learning model assisted by an e-module significantly influences students’ mathematical problem-solving and mathematical critical thinking skills
