Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar matematika berbasis model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dengan bantuan scaffolding pada materi statistika untuk siswa SMP sebagai inovasi dan menjadi solusi dari permasalahan pemahaman terhadap materi statistika serta diharapkan peserta didik tidak hanya mampu memahami konsep secara prosedural, tetapi juga mampu mengaitkan konsep tersebut dengan situasi nyata. Bahan ajar yang disusun diharapakan dapat menjadi alternatif sumber belajar yang lebih interaktif, terstruktur, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan kognitif siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan yang mengacu pada model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Subjek penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Islam Purbolinggo. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan angket (validasi dan kemenarikan), wawancara, dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil dari uji kelayakan oleh validator ahli materi yang dilakukan oleh 3 ahli memperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 3,50 dengan kriteria “sangat valid”. Hasil uji kelayakan dari validator ahli media yang dilakukan oleh 3 ahli memperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 3,18 dengan kriteria “valid”. Uji respon kemenarikan oleh peserta didik kelompok kecil mendapat nilai rata-rata 2,75 dengan kriteria “menarik”, uji coba pada peserta didik kelompok besar mendapat nilai rata-rata 2,91 dengan kriteria “menarik”. Hasil efektivitas produk mendapatkan hasil perhitungan effect size sebesar 0,80 dengan kriteria “sedang”. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dengan scaffolding pada materi statistika layak, menarik, dan cukup efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. ABSTRACT This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model with scaffolding support on statistics material for junior high school students as an innovation and as a solution to problems related to understanding statistics material. It is also expected that students will not only be able to understand concepts procedurally, but will also be able to relate these concepts to real-life situations. The teaching materials developed are expected to become an alternative learning resource that is more interactive, structured, and aligned with the cognitive development characteristics of junior high school students. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach, namely research and development that refers to the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this research and development are seventh-grade students at SMP Islam Purbolinggo. The data collection techniques in this study use questionnaires (validation and attractiveness), interviews, documentation, and tests. The results of the feasibility test by material expert validators conducted by three experts obtained an average score of 3.50 with the criterion of “very valid.” The feasibility test results from media expert validators conducted by three experts obtained an average score of 3.18 with the criterion of “valid.” The attractiveness response test by students in the small group obtained an average score of 2.75 with the criterion of “attractive,” and the trial with students in the large group obtained an average score of 2.91 with the criterion of “attractive.” The product effectiveness results obtained an effect size calculation of 0.80 with the criterion of “currently.” Thus, it can be concluded that the teaching materials based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model with scaffolding on statistics material are feasible, attractive, and quite effective to be used in the learning process.
