Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran IDEA (Issue, Discussion, Establish, and Apply) dengan pendekatan Green Education terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik SMPN 2 Gunung Labuhan. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa. Model pembelajaran IDEA dipandang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep melalui tahapan yang sistematis, sedangkan pendekatan Green Education menekankan pentingnya kepedulian lingkungan dalam proses pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII, dengan sampel dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran IDEA berbasis Green Education dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan angket sikap peduli lingkungan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji MANOVA untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan terhadap kedua variabel terikat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran IDEA dengan pendekatan Green Education terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik. Kata kunci: IDEA, Green Education, pemahaman konsep matematis, sikap peduli lingkungan iv ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the IDEA learning model (Issue, Discussion, Establish, and Apply) with the Green Education approach on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and environmental care attitude at SMPN 2 Gunung Labuhan. The background of this research is the low level of students’ conceptual understanding in mathematics as well as their lack of environmental awareness. The IDEA learning model is considered effective in improving conceptual understanding through systematic stages, while the Green Education approach emphasizes environmental awareness within the learning process. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of all eighth-grade students, with two classes selected as samples: the experimental class, which received treatment using the IDEA model integrated with Green Education, and the control class, which received conventional learning. The instruments used were a conceptual understanding test and an environmental care attitude questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using MANOVA to examine the effect of the treatment on both dependent variables. The results showed that the IDEA learning model with the Green Education approach had a significant effect on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and environmental care attitude.
