Abstract

ABSTRAK Model pembelajaran WEE (Wondering, Exploring, Explaining) merupakan model pembelajaran kooperatif yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif peserta didik melalui tahapan membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu (wondering), mencari informasi (exploring), dan memaparkan hasilnya (explaining). Strategi QSH (Question Student Have) adalah strategi pembelajaran yang mendorong peserta didik menuliskan pertanyaan yang muncul selama pembelajaran untuk memicu diskusi, rasa ingin tahu, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran WEE dengan strategi QSH terhadap: (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, (2) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, dan (3) interaksi antara keduanya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design). Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Pesawaran tahun ajaran 2024/2025 yang berjumlah 191 peserta didik. Sampel penelitian ditentukan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, dengan tiga kelas terpilih sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 (model WEE dengan strategi QSH), kelas eksperimen 2 (model WEE), dan kelas kontrol (discovery learning). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan tes berpikir kritis. Analisis data menggunakan uji Manova (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran WEE dengan strategi QSH terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Berdasarkan perhitungan, model pembelajaran WEE dengan strategi QSH lebih efektif dibandingkan model WEE saja maupun pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran WEE dengan strategi QSH mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik. The QSH (Question Student Have) strategy is a learning strategy that encourages students to write down questions that arise during the learning process to stimulate discussion, curiosity, and critical thinking skills. This study aims to investigate the effect of the WEE learning model with the QSH strategy on: (1) improving students’ conceptual understanding, (2) enhancing students’ critical thinking skills, and (3) the interaction between both variables. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 14 Pesawaran in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 191 students. The sample was determined using the cluster random sampling technique, with three classes selected as experimental class 1 (WEE with QSH strategy), experimental class 2 (WEE only), and the control class (discovery learning). The research instruments consisted of a conceptual understanding test and a critical thinking test. Data analysis was carried out using Manova (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) at a 5% significance level. The results show that there is a significant effect of the WEE learning model with the QSH strategy on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. Based on the analysis, the WEE learning model combined with the QSH strategy is more effective than the WEE model alone or conventional learning. Thus, it can be concluded that applying the WEE learning model with the QSH strategy can improve students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills.
