Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Case Base Learning dan curiosity terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis quasi experimental design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Abung Semuli tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, dengan kelas IX H sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan Case Base Learning dan kelas IX F sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan Direct Instruction. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan angket curiosity. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan anava dua jalan sel tak sama pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat pengaruh antara Case Base Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik, (2) Terdapat pengaruh antara curiosity terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik, (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara Case Base Learning dan curiosity terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. Kata Kunci : Case Base Learning, Curiosity, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis iii ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of Case Base Learning and curiosity on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of all ninth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Abung Semuli in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, with class IX H as the experimental class implementing Case Base Learning and class IX F as the control class applying Direct Instruction. The instruments used in this study were a mathematical problem-solving ability test and a curiosity questionnaire. Data analysis techniques included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using two-way ANOVA with unequal cells at a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study indicate that: (1) There is an effect of Case-Based Learning on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability, (2) There is an effect of curiosity on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability, and (3) There is no interaction between Case-Based Learning and curiosity on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability.
