Abstract
ABSTRACT Previous studies have examined how independent learning and self-efficacy are related to mathematical creative thinking. However, no study has yet combined Self-Directed Learning (SDL) modeling with the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach, creative thinking skills, and self-efficacy. This study aims to examine several variables, including self-directed learning, self-efficacy, and mathematical creative thinking ability. The population selected represents high school students in Tulang Bawang Tengah for this quantitative correlational study. The sample was chosen using random sampling. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires. Data analysis used the MannWhitney test to examine the influence of each independent variable and their interactions. The results of the data analysis indicate that the application of the SDL learning model with the CTL approach has a positive impact on enhancing students' mathematical creativity. Additionally, students with high self-efficacy levels demonstrate better creativity compared to those with low self-efficacy. There is also a significant interaction between the learning model and self-efficacy on mathematical creativity. This indicates that learning that allows for independence and relevance of the material to real-world contexts, when supported by high self-confidence, can optimize students' creative potential in mathematics. The importance of self-efficacy cannot be overstated.
