Abstract

ABSTRAK Permasalahan dalam pembelajaran matematika di MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan dengan kurangnya variasi bahan ajar yang menarik dan relevan, serta belum tersedianya modul yang secara khusus mengembangkan kemampuan representasi matematis. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar materi aljabar berorientasi kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik yang valid, menarik dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development serta menggunakan model penelitian ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Tahap Development melibatkan validator (validator ahli media dan validator ahli materi) untuk menilai kelayakan bahan ajar. Tahap Implementation melibatkan 36 peserta didik yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kecil 10 peserta didik dan kelompok besar sebanyak 26 peserta didik. Pada penilaian kemenarikan bahan ajar menggunakan angket respon peserta didik. Uji efektivitas produk diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test. Hasil validasi bahan ajar oleh para validator, dinyatakan valid oleh para ahli. Sementara uji coba kemenarikan oleh kelompok kecil dan kelompok besar dinyatakan sangat menarik oleh peserta didik. Untuk uji keefektifan menggunakan uji Effect Size dan mendapatkan nilai sedang atau cukup efektif. Dengan demikian, bahan ajar ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan antusiasme peserta didik dalam belajar matematika khususnya dalam hal kemampuan representasi matematis dan dapat menjadi referensi untuk pengembangan bahan ajar. This is due to the lack of engaging and relevant teaching materials, as well as the absence of a module specifically designed to develop students' mathematical representation skills. Therefore, this study aims to develop algebra teaching materials oriented towards students' mathematical representation ability that are valid, engaging, and effective. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach and uses the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The Development stage involved expert validators (media expert and subject matter expert) to assess the feasibility of the teaching materials. The Implementation stage involved 36 students divided into two groups: a small group of 10 students and a large group of 26 students. The attractiveness of the teaching materials was evaluated using student response questionnaires. Product effectiveness was assessed through pre-test and post-test results. The validation results by the experts indicated that the teaching materials are valid. Meanwhile, the attractiveness tests conducted by both the small and large groups revealed that students found the materials to be very engaging. The effectiveness test using the Effect Size analysis showed a moderate score, indicating that the materials are reasonably effective. Therefore, these teaching materials are expected to enhance students' understanding and enthusiasm in learning mathematics, particularly in developing mathematical representation skills, and can serve as a reference for future teaching material development.
