Abstract
ABSTRACT This research invistigate of The Influence Of Disney Animated Films On The Speaking Ability Of Eight-Grade Students At Mtsn 2 Bandar Lampung In The Academic Year 2024/2025. Speaking is recocnized as a crucial productive skill that requires mastery of pronunciation, fluency, vocabuary, grammar, and comprehession. However, many students still struggle with confidence, intonation, pronounciation, and limited exposure to authentic English input. Disney animated films, such as Wall-E and Inside Out, offer rich visual and auditory simuli, authentic expressions, and engaging narratives that can motivate students and provide contextualized language models. This study employed a qualitative approach with a quasiexperimental design using non-equalivalent control group. A total of 63 students were selected throught cluster random sampling, divided into an experimental class taught using Disney animated films and control class taught using dtextbook-based instruction. Data were collected throught pre-tests and post test measured using speaking rubric assesing pronunciation, grammar,vocabulary, fluency, and compreension. Statistical analysis, including normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-test using SPSS, revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The post-test using indicated that students taugh using disney animated films achieved higher scores, demonstrating an improvement in speaking performance. These finding suggest that Disney animated films effectively improving students speaking ability by providing enganging, contextualized language input and promoting active participation. Therefore, integrating animated films into English instruction can serve as an innovative and effective strategy for improving students’ speaking ability skills in junior high scholl settings.
