Abstract

ABSTRAK Pelaksanaan Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok dengan Teknik Diskusi Kelompok terhadap Pemilihan Sekolah Lanjutan pada Peserta Didik Kelas IX SMP Negeri 17 Bandar Lampung Pemilihan sekolah lanjutan merupakan masa transisi yang penting bagi peserta didik kelas IX. Pada fase ini, banyak peserta didik yang masih mengalami kebingungan, keraguan, dan cenderung dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal seperti teman sebaya serta orang tua dalam mengambil keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik diskusi kelompok terhadap pemilihan sekolah lanjutan pada peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 17 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi non-partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur kepada subjek penelitian (Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling serta peserta didik kelas IX), dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari proses pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk menguji keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum layanan bimbingan diberikan, pemahaman peserta didik terhadap pilihan sekolah (seperti SMA, SMK, atau MA) masih terbatas dan mereka belum mantap dalam menentukan arah studinya. Pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan kelompok diimplementasikan secara terstruktur melalui tahap pembukaan, pembentukan kelompok, tahap peralihan, kegiatan inti berupa diskusi kelompok, penarikan kesimpulan, dan penutup. Setelah mengikuti layanan, terjadi perubahan positif secara prosesual; peserta didik mengalami peningkatan pemahaman mengenai ragam alternatif sekolah lanjutan. Selain itu, peserta didik lebih mampu mempertimbangkan pilihan berdasarkan minat, bakat, dan kemampuan pribadi secara lebih rasional, serta menunjukkan kemantapan dan kemandirian dalam mengambil keputusan tanpa bergantung pada teman sebaya. Disimpulkan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik diskusi kelompok sangat tepat digunakan untuk membantu siswa SMP menentukan pilihan sekolah lanjutan. ABSTRACT That is why the choice in continuing education is also the transitional stage that is the most important for students grade nine. Many young people are unsure at this point in their lives and feel they cannot decide on their own, and they are also influenced by others in making their decisions including friends and their parents. This study is a collaborative action research designed to investigate the effect of the application of group guidance service on choosing the next line of education for the grade nine students at SMP Negeri 17 Bandar Lampung. This study used a qualitative approach, with a descriptive design. The procedure of data collection was non-participate observation, semi-structured interviewed with the subjects of the study which is the Guidance and Counseling teachers and the ninth grade students, and documentation analysis. The data were analysed by using the Miles and Huberman model, including data collection, data reduction, data display, as well as conclusion drawing. This study applied triangulation of source and triangulation of method to attain trustworthiness of the research. The result indicate that before the service of guidance was put into action, the students’ awareness to the educational path Senior High School, Vocational High School, or Islamic Senior High School option was quite low and they were indecisive to choose the path of their education. The execution of group guidance services was organized to went through the following stages for the preparation stage, the group formation stage, the preoccupations stage, the working stage through group interaction, the drawing conclusion stage, and the closing stage. Right after participation in the guidance program a positive procesual in-patient was identifiable. Students became more aware of the array of educational options available. They also have become better at assessing their options in a more logical fashion by considering where their interests, talents, and abilities lie. They also were more opinionated and independent in decision-making and less influenced by the group. Recommendations In line, with findings of this study it can be concluded that group guidance service using discussion techniques is good and is appropriate to be implemented with junior high school students to help them in deciding their further education.
