Abstract

ABSTRACT The rapid advancement of digital payment technology, particularly e-wallets, has significantly transformed consumption patterns in society, especially among Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012. As digital natives raised in a predominantly Muslim environment, Generation Z in Bandar Lampung faces the challenge of balancing the use of financial technology with Islamic consumption principles, including halalan thayyiban, wasath (moderation), and the prohibition of israf (extravagance). This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The research population consists of all Generation Z e-wallet users in Bandar Lampung, totaling 356,141 individuals, with a sample of 100 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS software, encompassing the evaluation of the measurement model (outer model) and the structural model (inner model). The independent variables include e-wallet usage (X1), lifestyle (X2), and self-control (X3), while the dependent variable is Islamic consumer behavior (Y). The theoretical frameworks applied are the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). This research is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of Islamic consumer behavior studies in the context of digital technology, while also providing practical recommendations for the fintech industry, Islamic educational institutions, and the government in promoting wise and Islamically-compliant consumption behavior among young Muslim Indonesians. Sebagai generasi digital native yang tumbuh dalam lingkungan mayoritas Muslim, Generasi Z di Kota Bandar Lampung menghadapi tantangan untuk menyeimbangkan pemanfaatan teknologi finansial dengan prinsip-prinsip konsumsi Islam seperti halalan thayyiban, wasath (moderasi), dan larangan israf (pemborosan). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan sifat asosiatif kausal. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh Gen Z pengguna e wallet di Kota Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 356.141 jiwa, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden yang dipilih menggunakan rumus Slovin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner terstruktur dengan skala Likert. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) berbasis Partial Least Squares (PLS) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS, yang meliputi evaluasi model pengukuran (outer model) dan model struktural (inner model). Variabel independen meliputi penggunaan e-wallet (X1), gaya hidup (X2), dan self control (X3), sedangkan variabel dependennya adalah Islamic consumer behavior (Y). Landasan teori yang digunakan adalah Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) dan Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam pengembangan kajian Islamic consumer behavior berbasis teknologi digital, sekaligus memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi industri fintech, lembaga pendidikan Islam, dan pemerintah dalam mendorong perilaku konsumsi yang bijak dan sesuai nilai-nilai Islam di kalangan generasi muda Muslim Indonesia.
