Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi isu genosida Palestina pada konten Instagram @eye.on.palestine serta kesesuaian penyampaian pesannya dengan nilai-nilai komunikasi Islam. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya peran Instagram sebagai media penyebaran informasi mengenai krisis kemanusiaan di Palestina. Akun @eye.on.palestine menjadi salah satu akun yang konsisten menyuarakan isu tersebut melalui foto, video, dan narasi yang membangun kesadaran publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis representasi isu genosida Palestina pada konten akun tersebut berdasarkan teori representasi Stuart Hall serta menilai kesesuaiannya dengan prinsip komunikasi Islam menurut Harjani Hefni. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis) dan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif melalui penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Data primer diperoleh dari dokumentasi dan analisis foto, video, serta caption pada akun Instagram @eye.on.palestine, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari buku, jurnal, dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akun @eye.on.palestine merepresentasikan isu genosida Palestina melalui visual dan narasi. Visual berupa bangunan yang hancur, anak-anak korban konflik, serta kondisi pengungsian membangun makna krisis kemanusiaan, sedangkan narasi disampaikan secara konsisten dari perspektif kemanusiaan sehingga membentuk pemahaman audiens terhadap situasi di Palestina. Ditinjau dari perspektif komunikasi Islam, penyampaian konten pada akun tersebut secara umum telah mencerminkan prinsip sidq (kejujuran), amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, serta etika komunikasi qaulan sadidan, qaulan balighan, qaulan ma'rufan, qaulan layyina, dan qaulan maysura melalui penyampaian informasi yang faktual, efektif, santun, dan mudah dipahami. Kata Kunci: Representasi, Genosida Palestina, Komunikasi Islam, Media Sosial ABSTRACT This study examines the representation of the Palestinian genocide issue in the Instagram account @eye.on.palestine and its alignment with Islamic communication values. This research is motivated by the increasing role of Instagram as a medium for disseminating information about the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. The @eye.on.palestine account has become one of the accounts that consistently voices this issue through photos, videos, and narratives that raise public awareness. This study aims to analyze the representation of the Palestinian genocide issue in the account's content based on Stuart Hall's representation theory and assess its alignment with the principles of Islamic communication according to Harjani Hefni. This study uses a qualitative method with a content analysis approach and is descriptive qualitative through library research. Primary data were obtained from documentation and analysis of photos, videos, and captions on the @eye.on.palestine Instagram account, while secondary data were obtained from relevant books, journals, and scholarly articles. The results indicate that the @eye.on.palestine account represents the Palestinian genocide issue through visuals and narratives. Visuals of destroyed buildings, children affected by conflict, and refugee conditions build the meaning of the humanitarian crisis, while the narrative is delivered consistently from a humanitarian perspective, thus shaping the audience's understanding of the situation in Palestine. Viewed from an Islamic communication perspective, the content delivered on the account generally reflects the principles of sidq (honesty), amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, and the communication ethics of qaulan sadidan, qaulan balighan, qaulan ma'rufan, qaulan layyina, and qaulan maysura through the delivery of factual, effective, polite, and easy-to-understand information.
