Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses pemberdayaan ibu rumah tangga melalui pengembangan home industry di Desa Pulau Legundi, Kabupaten Pesawaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode field research yang bersifat deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi terhadap 12 informan yang terdiri atas 1 aparat desa, 9 pelaku home industry, dan 2 tokoh masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan penyadaran, pengembangan kapasitas, fasilitasi, dan pendampingan. Program ini mendorong ibu rumah tangga untuk mengolah potensi lokal, terutama hasil laut dan perkebunan, menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis seperti stik ikan, stik cumi, dan keripik melinjo. Proses tersebut tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan produksi, tetapi juga memperkuat rasa percaya diri serta peran perempuan dalam menopang ekonomi keluarga. Meski demikian, terdapat beberapa hambatan, seperti keterbatasan akses pasar, beban domestik yang tinggi, serta ketidakstabilan bahan baku dan permintaan. Sehingga produksi dari home industry itu menurun. Secara keseluruhan, home industry menjadi salah satu strategi pemberdayaan yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat desa. Kata kunci: pemberdayaan, ibu rumah tangga, home industry, ekonomi keluarga, potensi lokal ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the process of empowering housewives through the development of home-based industries in Pulau Legundi Village, Pesawaran Regency. It employs a qualitative approach utilizing descriptive field research methods. Data were collected through semi structured interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving 12 informants: one village official, nine home-based industry operators, and two community leaders. The findings indicate that empowerment was implemented through stages of awareness-raising, capacity building, facilitation, and mentoring. The program encouraged housewives to utilize local resources, particularly marine and agricultural produce, to create economically valuable products such as fish sticks, squid sticks, and melinjo chips. This process not only enhanced production skills but also strengthened self-confidence and the role of women in supporting the family economy. However, several challenges persisted, including limited market access, heavy domestic workloads, and fluctuations in raw material availability and demand, which led to a decline in home-based industry production. Overall, home-based industries serve as an effective empowerment strategy for enhancing the economic self-reliance of the village community.
