Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting is a public health problem that has long-term effects on children’s growth and development as well as the quality of human resources. Preventive efforts need to be initiated before pregnancy, including during the premarital phase through strengthening the health readiness of prospective brides and grooms. This article examines the role of the Electronic Ready for Marriage and Pregnancy (ELSIMIL) application and the effectiveness of its implementation in premarital services at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Metro Kibang District, East Lampung Regency. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on field research, using interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The participants included the Head of the KUA, counseling staff, health workers, and five prospective couples. The findings indicate that ELSIMIL serves as a tool for premarital health risk screening, an educational medium, and a coordination link between the KUA and health services. The effectiveness of ELSIMIL is evident when screening results are followed up through assistance and health interventions, although it is still influenced by technical constraints, communication practices of officers, and limited time prior to marriage. Therefore, ELSIMIL is considered effective when implemented early and operated as a continuous assistance system rather than merely as an administrative requirement.
