Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena Perkembangan media sosial yang semakin pesat telah mendorong perubahan perilaku generasi z dalam berinteraksi dan memperoleh informasi. Paparan konten media sosial dapat memicu terjadinya social comparison dan financial anxiety yang berpotensi memengaruhi kesejahteraan finansial. Rumusan masalah apakah financial anxiety dan social comparison berbasis media sosial berpengaruh terhadap kesejahteraan finansial generasi z di kota Bandar Lampung. Tujuan peneliti untuk menganalisis pengaruh financial anxiety dan social comparison berbasis media sosial terhadap kesejahteraan finansial generasi z di kota Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif dengan menggunakan data primer melalui kuesioner kepada 100 responden generasi z yang bekerja di kota Bandar Lampung. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) dengan bantuan aplikasi SmartPLS 4. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa financial anxiety berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan finansial, yang berarti semakin tinggi tingkat kecemasan finansial, maka semakin rendah tingkat kesejahteraan finansial. sementara itu, social comparison berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan finansial, yang mengindikasikan bahwa perbandingan sosial dapat berfungsi sebagai motivasi untuk meningkatkan kondisi finansial. Dalam perspektif ekonomi syariah, yaitu dorongan positif untuk meniru keberhasilan orang lain tanpa disertai rasa iri yang berlebihan, serta pentingnya nilai qana’ah dan larangan israf dalam menjaga keseimbangan pengelolaan keuangan. . ABSTRACT This study examines the phenomenon of the rapid development of social media, which has encouraged changes in the behavior of generation z in interacting and obtaining information. Exposure to social media content can trigger social comparison and financial anxiety, which have the potential to affect financial well-being. The research problem is whether financial anxiety and social comparison based on social media influence the financial well-being of generation z in Bandar Lampung city. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of financial anxiety and social comparison based on social media on the financial. This research is an associative quantitative study using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 working generation z respondents in Bandar Lampung city. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that financial anxiety has a negative and significant effect on financial well-being, meaning that the higher the level of financial anxiety, the lower the level of financial well-being. Meanwhile, social comparison has a positive and significant effect on financial well-being, indicating that social comparison can function as a motivation to improve financial conditions. From the perspective of Islamic economics, this reflects a positive encouragement to emulate the success of others without excessive envy, as well as the importance of the values of qana'ah (contentment) and the prohibition of israf (extravagance) in maintaining balanced financial management.
