Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh penerapan kurikulum merdeka pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama, khususnya di SMP Negeri 6 Natar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi kurikulum merdeka mulai dari tahap penerapaan, pelaksanaaan, dan evaluasi di SMP Negeri 6 Natar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka pada pembelajaran IPA Biologi kelas VII di SMP Negeri 6 Natar, yang mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian meliputi guru IPA kelas VII dan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Natar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran (Modul Ajar) telah disusun berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka dengan mengintegrasikan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran sudah berpusat pada peserta didik (studentcentered) melalui pendekatan terdiferensiasi, meskipun guru masih menghadapi tantangan dalam memetakan kemampuan awal siswa yang beragam. Evaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan Asesmen Formatif dan Sumatif secara berkelanjutan untuk mengukur ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (TP). Faktor pendukung utama adalah pelatihan guru, sementara faktor penghambat adalah keterbatasan sarana laboratorium untuk praktikum Biologi. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi di SMP Negeri 6 Natar telah berjalan dengan cukup baik sesuai prinsip kurikulum, namun memerlukan optimalisasi pada pemanfaatan sarana praktikum. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) at the junior high school level, specifically at SMP Negeri 6 Natar. The study aims to examine the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka at SMP Negeri 6 Natar, covering the stages of application, execution, and evaluation. It specifically aims to analyze the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in Grade VII Biology instruction at SMP Negeri 6 Natar, encompassing lesson planning, execution, and evaluation. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of Grade VII Biology teachers and students at SMP Negeri 6 Natar. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research results indicate that lesson planning (Teaching Modules) has been developed based on the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) by integrating the Pancasila Student Profile. Instruction is student-centered, utilizing a differentiated approach, although teachers still face challenges in assessing students’ diverse initial proficiency levels. Learning evaluation employs continuous formative and summative assessments to measure the attainment of Learning Objectives. A key supporting factor is teacher training, while a limiting factor is the lack of adequate laboratory facilities for Biology practical work. The study concludes that the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka for the Biology subject at SMP Negeri 6 Natar has proceeded quite well in accordance with curriculum principles, though the utilization of practical facilities requires optimization.
