Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF EDUCANDY ON SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT SMP NEGERI 2 BANGUNREJO By: SINDI NURFADILLAH This study aimed to determine the influence of using Educandy as a digital learning platform on the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Bangunrejo in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group type. The research population was seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Bangunrejo, totaling 128 students. The sample consisted of two classes, namely VII A as the experimental class and VII E as the control class, each consisting of 32 students. The experimental class used Educandy, while the control class used conventional learning. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests with 25 multiple-choice questions and were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The research results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 was smaller than the 0.05 significance level. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted, indicating that using Educandy had a significant influence on students’ vocabulary mastery. The average score of the experimental class increased from 36.75 in the pre-test to 40.13 in the post-test, while the average score of the control class increased from 40.38 to 54.13. Although both classes improved after the treatment, the control class’s post-test average was higher than the experimental class’s.
