Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate students’ perspectives on the implementation of the flipped classroom method in learning to write descriptive texts, particularly in terms of its advantages, challenges, and its impact on students’ engagement and writing skills. This study employed a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to tenth-grade students from two classes, namely Class X.1 and Class X.2. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, median, and mode. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that students’ perceptions of the flipped classroom method were positive, as the mean score fell into the high category. This indicates that most students agreed with statements regarding the usefulness, effectiveness, and suitability of the method in learning to write descriptive texts. Students perceived that the method helped them understand the material more easily, encouraged active participation during classroom activities, and provided more opportunities for practice and interaction. Therefore, the flipped classroom method was well accepted and considered supportive of the writing learning process.
