Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing this method on PAI and Character Education learning outcomes among 7th-grade students at SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: Class 7A as the experimental group and Class 7B as the control group, each comprising 27 students. The experimental class received treatment using the Role Play and Simulation method based on Student Centered Learning (SCL), while the control class used conventional learning methods. The instrument consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions that had been validated. Data analysis was conducted using the Independent Sample T-Test and N-Gain Score through SPSS. The results showed that all instruments were valid (r-count > r-table = 0.361) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.871), with normally distributed data (Sig. > 0.05). The T-Test yielded a value of t = 6.765 with Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, thus H₁ was accepted. The experimental class post-test mean (83.81) was higher than the control class (64.48), a difference of 19.33 points. The experimental class NGain reached 0.62 (moderate category), higher than the control class at 0.18 (low category). It is concluded that the Role Play and Simulation method based on SCL has a significant effect and is proven more effective than conventional learning methods.
