Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan komunikasi verbal peserta didik yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya stimulasi terhadap interaksi dan partisipasi aktif peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think-pair-share (TPS) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi verbal peserta didik pada mata pelajaran PAI di kelas XI SMK Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest nonequivalent group. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes keterampilan komunikasi verbal. Sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen sebanyak 35 peserta didik dan kelas kontrol sebanyak 35 peserta didik. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji N-Gain dan Mann-Whitney U test dengan bantuan SPSS 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,376 termasuk kategori sedang, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,149 termasuk kategori rendah. Hasil uji MannWhitney U test menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi verbal pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe thinkpair-share (TPS) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi verbal peserta didik. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the low level of students' verbal communication skills, which is attributed to the lack of stimulation for interaction and active participation in the learning process.. The study aimed to determine whether the think-pair-share cooperative learning model had an effect on improving students’ verbal communication skills in Islamic Education (PAI) subjects among eleventh-grade students at SMK Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. This research employed a quantitative approach. The method used was a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and a verbal communication skills test. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of two classes: an experimental class with 35 students and a control class with 35 students. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test and an MannWhitney U test the assistance of SPSS 25. The results showed that the average N-Gain score of the experimental class was 0.376, categorized as moderate, while the control class obtained 0.149, categorized as low. The result of the Mann-Whitney U test indicated an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. This indicates that there was a significant difference between the improvement of verbal communication skills in the experimental class and the control class. Therefore, the think-pair-share (TPS) cooperative learning model had a positive and significant effect on improving students’ verbal communication skills. Therefore, the think-pair-share (TPS) cooperative learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ verbal communication skills.
