Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran fisika serta terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menarik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengembangkan media pembelajaran video demonstrasi pada materi Gerak Lurus Beraturan (GLB) dan Gerak Lurus Berubah Beraturan (GLBB), (2) mengetahui tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran video demonstrasi, (3) mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap media yang dikembangkan, dan (4) mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran video demonstrasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development/R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4-D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Namun, penelitian ini dibatasi hanya sampai pada tahap develop. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X IPA SMA Ma’arif 3 Sekampung Udik yang berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket validasi ahli, angket respon peserta didik, serta tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, uji t berpasangan (paired sample t-test), dan perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran video demonstrasi yang dikembangkan memperoleh nilai rata-rata validasi ahli materi dan ahli media sebesar 4,00 dengan kategori layak. Respon peserta didik terhadap media juga menunjukkan kategori layak dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 4,00. Selain itu, penggunaan media pembelajaran video demonstrasi terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 60,83 menjadi 80,00 pada posttest. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebesar 8,50 lebih besar daripada t tabel sebesar 2,045, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Hasil perhitungan N-Gain memperoleh nilai sebesar 0,49 dengan kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran video demonstrasi yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak digunakan dan cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran fisika materi gerak lurus. ABSTRACT This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in physics learning and the limited use of innovative and engaging learning media. The objectives of this study were: (1) to develop demonstration video learning media on the topics of Uniform Linear Motion (GLB) and Uniformly Accelerated Linear Motion (GLBB), (2) to determine the feasibility of the developed demonstration video learning media, (3) to identify students’ responses toward the developed media, and (4) to determine the effect of demonstration video learning media on students’ critical thinking skills. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. However, this research was limited only to the develop stage. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class X IPA at SMA Ma’arif 3 Sekampung Udik. Data collection techniques included expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and critical thinking skill tests in the form of pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results showed that the developed demonstration video learning media obtained an average score of 4.00 from material and media expert validations, which was categorized as feasible. Students’ responses toward the media also indicated a feasible category with an average score of 4.00. Furthermore, the use of demonstration video learning media was proven to improve students’ critical thinking skills. This was indicated by the increase in the average pretest score from 60.83 to 80.00 in the posttest. The result of the t-test showed that the t-count value of 8.50 was higher than the t-table value of 2.045, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain score obtained was 0.49, which was categorized as moderate. Therefore, the developed demonstration video learning media was considered feasible and sufficiently effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in physics learning on linear motion material.
