Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kepercayaan Diri, Self Disclosure, Father Attachment, Generasi Z. ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-DISCLOSURES AND FATHER ATTACHMENT AND SELFCONFIDENCE IN GEN Z By: Jasmine Qurrottaayun The phenomenon of low self-confidence among some members of Generation Z has attracted attention in developmental psychology studies. Generation Z is in the stage of discovering their identity and forming interpersonal relationships, so their psychological state and the quality of their relationships with those closest to them can influence the development of self-confidence. This study aims to determine the relationship between selfdisclosure and father attachment and self-confidence in Generation Z. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 182 Generation Z respondents in Indonesia, obtained through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a self-confidence scale based on Lauster's (2012) theory, a selfdisclosure scale based on DeVito's (2011) theory, and a father attachment scale based on Armsden and Greenberg's (2009) concept. All instruments demonstrated good reliability with Cronbach's Alpha coefficients of 0.88, 0.86, and 0.89, respectively. Data analysis was performed using JASP software version 0.19.3.0. The results showed an R value of 0.640 with F = 124.7 and p < 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between self-disclosure and father attachment with self-confidence in Generation Z. The R² value of 0.409 indicates that both variables contribute 40.9% to selfconfidence, while 59.1% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Partially, self-disclosure has a positive and significant relationship with self-confidence (r = 0.640; p < 0.001), while father attachment also shows a positive and significant relationship with selfconfidence (r = 0.596; p < 0.001). Keywords: Self-Confidence, Self-Disclosure, Father Attachment, Generation Z.
