Abstract

ABSTRAK Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat, khususnya pada sektor kuliner di Kabupaten Pesisir Barat. Meskipun jumlah UMKM terus meningkat, pertumbuhan laba yang diperoleh pelaku usaha belum sepenuhnya stabil dan merata. Kondisi ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kemampuan pengelolaan usaha dan kapasitas produksi yang dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pendidikan pemilik serta skala usaha yang dijalankan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mengkaji apakah tingkat pendidikan pemilik dan skala usaha berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah tingkat pendidikan pemilik dan skala usaha berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM secara parsial maupun simultan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh kedua variabel tersebut terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan probability sampling dengan rumus Slovin. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, regresi linear berganda, uji t, uji F, dan koefisien determinasi (R²). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan pemilik berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM, skala usaha berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM, dan secara simultan kedua variabel tersebut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan laba UMKM. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,785 menunjukkan bahwa 78,5% variasi pertumbuhan laba dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel tersebut, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar model penelitian. Dalam perspektif ekonomi Islam, pertumbuhan laba harus diiringi pengelolaan usaha yang amanah dan sesuai prinsip syariah. ABSTRACT Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in improving the community’s economy, particularly in the culinary sector in Pesisir Barat Regency. Although the number of MSMEs continues to increase, the profit growth achieved by business actors has not been fully stable and evenly distributed. This condition indicates differences in business management capability and production capacity influenced by the owner’s level of education and the scale of business operated. Therefore, it is important to examine whether the owner’s education level and business scale affect MSME profit growth. The research problem in this study is whether the owner’s education level and business scale influence MSME profit growth partially and simultaneously. This study aims to determine the magnitude of the effect of these two variables on MSME profit growth. This research employed a field research method with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used probability sampling with the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted through validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that the owner’s education level has a positive and significant effect on MSME profit growth, business scale has a positive and significant effect on MSME profit growth, and simultaneously both variables significantly affect MSME profit growth. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.785 indicates that 78.5% of the variation in profit growth can be explained by these two variables, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the research model. From an Islamic economic perspective, profit growth must be accompanied by trustworthy and Shariacompliant business management.
