Abstract
ABSTRACT Consumptive behavior among Generation Z continues to rise along with the advancement of digital technology, social media exposure, and modern lifestyle trends that encourage spending based on desires rather than needs. In Islamic economic principles, excessive consumption contradicts the values of al-iqtishad (moderation), tawazun (balance), and the prohibition of israf and tabdzir. This study aims to analyze the influence of hedonistic lifestyle, financial literacy, and religiosity on the consumptive behavior of Generation Z in Bandar Lampung City. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 respondents aged 18–26 years, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was tested using validity analysis (r-table = 0.1966), reliability testing, and classical assumption tests. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, including t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that, partially: (1) hedonistic lifestyle significantly influences consumptive behavior with a t-value of 6.339 and Sig. 0.000; (2) financial literacy significantly influences consumptive behavior with a t-value of 3.125 and Sig. 0.02; and (3) religiosity significantly influences consumptive behavior with a tvalue of 2.241 and Sig. 0.00. Simultaneously, all three variables significantly affect consumptive behavior with an F-value of 1445 and Sig. 0.02. The Adjusted R² value of 0.43 indicates that the three variables jointly contribute 43% to consumptive behavior, while the remaining 57% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. From the perspective of Islamic economics, these findings confirm that excessive consumptive behavior is inconsistent with Islamic principles, while financial literacy and religiosity serve as important factors in enhancing self-control and promoting wiser consumption.
