Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh beberapa hal yaitu, rendahnya peserta didik dalam kemampuan berbicara disebabkan oleh perasaan kurang percaya diri, malu berpendapat, ragu-ragu, serta penggunaan bahasa yang kurang tepat ketika diminta untuk berbicara didepan kelas disebabkan oleh minimnya pelatihan dalam keterampilan berbicara, penggunaan media pembelajaran kurang dioptimalkan oleh guru sehingga siswa tidak tertarik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode show and tell berbantuan media audio visual terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya, Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling sehigga terpilih kelas IV A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan IV B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan tes lisan keterampilan berbicara dan dokumentasi lalu dalam uji instrumen menggunakan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Uji analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan mengenai tingkat keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya, dengan jumlah 32 siswa dalam kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data bahwa hasil hipotesis eksperimen diterima artinya metode pembelajaran show and tell berbantuan media audiovisual berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya Bandar Lampung. Hal ini ditunjukan dari hasil uji t-test dapat diperoleh hasil nilai (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,293>0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran show and tell efektif terhadap keterampilan berbicara peserta didik kelas IV pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci : Metode Show and Tell, Media Audio Visual, Keterampilan Berbicara. iii ABSTRACT This research is motivated by several things, namely, the low level of students' speaking ability is caused by feelings of lack of confidence, embarrassment in expressing opinions, hesitation, and inappropriate use of language when asked to speak in front of the class due to minimal training in speaking skills, the use of learning media is not optimized by teachers so that students are not interested in the learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the show and tell method assisted by audio-visual media on the speaking skills of elementary school students. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya. The sampling technique used total sampling so that class IV A was selected as the experimental class and IV B as the control class. The data collection technique used an oral test of speaking skills and documentation, then in the instrument test using validity and reliability tests. The data analysis test in this study used normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. Based on the results of research that has been carried out regarding the level of speaking skills of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya, with a total of 32 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The results of the data analysis that the results of the experimental hypothesis are accepted means that the show and tell learning method assisted by audiovisual media has an effect on the speaking skills of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya Bandar Lampung. This is shown from the results of the t-test that can be obtained the value results (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.293> 0.05. So it can be concluded that the show and tell learning method is effective for the speaking skills of fourth-grade students in Indonesian language learning at class IV SD Negeri 2 Harapan Jaya Bandar Lampung.
