Abstract

ABSTRACT Vocabulary mastery is a fundamental component in English language learning, playing a crucial role in supporting listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. However, many elementary school students face difficulties in mastering vocabulary, particularly due to low motivation and the use of traditional teaching methods that are less engaging. Therefore, there is a need for innovative and interactive learning media, one of which is through digital applications such as FunEasyLearn. This study aims to examine the impact of using the FunEasyLearn application on the English vocabulary mastery of second-grade students at SDN 01 Basungan during the 2025/2026 academic year. This research uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. Two groups were selected from second-grade students; one experimental group used the FunEasyLearn application, while the control group used traditional teaching methods. Vocabulary mastery data were collected through pre-test and post-test, and analyzed using t-test to determine significant differences between the two groups. The results showed that the use of the FunEasyLearn application led to a significant improvement in English vocabulary mastery. The experimental group, which used the application, showed a greater increase in scores on the post-test compared to the control group that used traditional media. The FunEasyLearn application proved to be effective in improving English vocabulary mastery in elementary school students. The interactive and adaptive application based learning media can be an attractive and more effective alternative compared to conventional media, especially in increasing students' motivation and engagement in the learning process.
