Abstract

ABSTRAK Oleh: ARYA SAPUTRA ROSIDIQ Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepribadian Neuroticism dan kecemasan sosial pada wanita dewasa awal yang menggunakan dating apps. Penggunaan platform seperti Tinder, Bumble, dan Tantan semakin umum di kalangan perempuan usia 21–40 tahun sebagai sarana berkenalan tanpa tatap muka. Namun, interaksi daring sering kali memunculkan kekhawatiran akan penilaian negatif, terutama pada individu dengan kecenderungan emosional tertentu. Neuroticism menggambarkan kecenderungan seseorang untuk mengalami emosi negatif seperti mudah cemas, khawatir, dan sensitif terhadap situasi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Sebanyak 203 responden yang merupakan pengguna aktif dating apps berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan BFI-2-S untuk Neuroticism dan LSAS-SR Indonesia untuk kecemasan sosial. Analisis menggunakan JASP 0.17.0.0 menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif signifikan antara kedua variabel, dengan nilai r = 0,511 dan p < 0,001. Artinya, semakin tinggi tingkat Neuroticism, semakin besar kecenderungan individu mengalami kecemasan sosial. Variabel Neuroticism memberikan sumbangan sebesar 26% terhadap kecemasan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kepribadian berperan penting dalam pengalaman sosial pengguna dating apps serta dapat menjadi acuan bagi penelitian lanjutan terkait faktor psikologis dalam interaksi digital. ABSTRACT Author: ARYA SAPUTRA ROSIDIQ This study aims to examine the relationship between Neuroticism and social anxiety among early adult women who use dating apps. Platforms such as Tinder, Bumble, and Tantan have become increasingly common among women aged 21–40 as a way to connect with others without direct face-to-face interaction. However, online communication often triggers concerns about negative evaluation, particularly among individuals with certain emotional tendencies. Neuroticism refers to a personality trait characterized by emotional instability, frequent worry, heightened sensitivity, and a greater tendency to experience negative emotions. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Pearson Product Moment correlation method. A total of 203 active dating-app users participated as respondents. Data were collected using the BFI-2-S to measure Neuroticism and the LSAS-SR Indonesia to assess social anxiety. Analysis using JASP 0.17.0.0 revealed a significant positive correlation between the two variables, with r = 0.511 and p < 0.001. This indicates that higher levels of Neuroticism are associated with a greater likelihood of experiencing social anxiety. Neuroticism contributed 26% to the variance in social anxiety. The findings highlight the important role of personality traits in shaping social experiences among dating-app users and provide a foundation for future research exploring psychological factors in digital interaction.
