Abstract

ABSTRACT Investment plays an important role in supporting national economic growth and, in Islam, is regarded as a form of muamalah that is encouraged due to its broad benefits. The Islamic capital market emerges as an alternative investment that not only pursues financial returns but also upholds ethical values and justice, thereby attracting both Muslim and non-Muslim investors. Investment decisions in this market are influenced by risk perception and investment knowledge. This study aims to examine the effect of risk perception and investment knowledge on investment decisions in the Islamic capital market from an Islamic business perspective. The object of the research is the non-Muslim community in Bandar Lampung, with the population consisting of non-Muslim residents in the city, and a sample of 100 respondents. A quantitative approach was employed, and data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that both variables have a significant influence on investment decisions. Risk perception exerts a positive effect as a psychological indicator that reflects an individual’s readiness to face uncertainty in investment. Likewise, investment knowledge has a positive effect as a cognitive and educational factor that shapes one’s understanding of investment instruments, market mechanisms, as well as associated risks and benefits. The results of this study are expected to provide a broader understanding of the dynamics of investment decision-making among non-Muslim communities and serve as a reference for the development of an inclusive and interfaith Islamic capital market
