Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted to analyzing the connotative meanings in outstanding song lyrics by Scorpions entitled “Wind of change,Send Me An Angel,and Don‟t Believe Her”,as a singles from their eleventh studio album “Crazy World” which was released on 6 November 1990. The objective of this research was to describe the results of the connotative meaning in Scorpions song lyrics and to find out the real meaning. This research was focused on analyzing the connotative meaning found in “Wind of Change,Send Me An Angel,and Don‟t Believe Her” lyrics by Scorpions. This research would answered several problems including the dominant and the real meaning of connotative meaning in “Wind of Change,Send Me An Angel,and Don‟t Believe Her” lyrics by Scorpions. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative method. The process of data analysis required a detailed description based on the characteristics of the connotative meaning. The data were collected by watching the lyrics video,and then continued by observing and identifying the meaning on the data,collecting the data, and then, find out the real meaning of connotative meaning from various sources. The result of this research showed that 12 sentences used connotative meanings in all song lyrics of “Wind of Change,Send Me An Angel,and Don‟t Believe Her” songs by Scorpions .All of their songs contained same numbers of connotation.
