Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Student Center Learning (SCL) berbantuan video Youtube terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (Quasi experimental design). Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 24 Bandar Lampung pada kelas VIII semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2025/2026. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari tiga kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen 1 yang menerapkan model pembelajaran SCL berbantuan video youtube , kelas eksperimen 2 yang menggunakan SCL , dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda, serta tingkat kesukarannya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji MANOVA untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran terhadap kedua variabel terikat secara simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Student Centered Learning berbantuan video YouTube terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik. Peserta didik yang belajar dengan model SCL berbantuan video YouTube memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan peserta didik pada kelas kontrol. Penggunaan video YouTube membantu peserta didik memahami konsep abstrak matematika secara visual, meningkatkan keaktifan, serta memperkuat kemampuan mereka dalam mengaitkan konsep dengan berbagai bentuk representasi matematis. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran Student Centered Learning berbantuan video YouTube efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan representasi matematis peserta didik pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Kata kunci: Student Centered Learning, video YouTube, berpikir kritis, representasi matematis. iii ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of the Student Centered Learning (SCL) model assisted by YouTube videos on students’ critical thinking and mathematical representation abilities. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 24 Bandar Lampung in class VIII of the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample consisted of three classes: the first experimental class using the SCL model assisted by YouTube videos, the second experimental class using SCL without video assistance, and the control class applying the expository learning model. The data collection instrument was an essay test designed to measure students’ critical thinking and mathematical representation abilities, which had been tested for validity, reliability, discrimination index, and difficulty level. Data analysis was performed using MANOVA to examine the effect of the learning model on both dependent variables simultaneously. The results showed a significant effect of the Student Centered Learning model assisted by YouTube videos on students’ critical thinking and mathematical representation abilities. Students who learned through the SCL model assisted by YouTube videos achieved higher levels of critical thinking and mathematical representation skills compared to those in the control class. The use of YouTube videos helped students visualize abstract mathematical concepts, increased their learning engagement, and strengthened their ability to connect concepts with various mathematical representations. Thus, the implementation of the Student Centered Learning model assisted by YouTube videos is effective in improving students’ critical thinking and mathematical representation abilities, particularly in the topic of relations and functions.
