Abstract

ABSTRACT Grammar plays an essential role in helping students construct correct and meaningful sentences in English. However, the grammar learning outcomes of the tenth-grade students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung were relatively low, particularly in mastering the Simple Present Tense. During classroom activities, teachers rarely used interactive media and mostly relied on printed worksheets as the main learning resource. This condition made the learning process less engaging and effective. Therefore, this research aimed to determine the significant influence of using Liveworksheets learning media towards students‘ Simple Present Tense mastery at the tenth grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung. The research methodology used in this study was a quasi experimental design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2024/2025. The sample was selected using a cluster random sampling technique and was divided into two classes, namely X BDP as the experimental class with 30 students and X TKJ as the control class with 28 students, making a total of 58 students. The experimental class was taught using Liveworksheets learning media, while the control class was taught through conventional methods. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 40 items, with 20 items for the pre-test and 20 items for the post-test. The research procedure included administering a pre-test, conducting treatment for three meetings, and giving a post-test afterward. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 through an Independent Samples t-test. The data analysis results showed a significant difference in students‘ Simple Present Tense scores before and after the treatment. The hypothesis testing using an Independent Samples t-test indicated that the significance value (Sig.) was 0.000, which was lower than the significance level (α = 0.05). Therefore, Ha was accepted, confirming that the use of Liveworksheets learning media had a significant influence towards students‘ Simple Present Tense mastery at the tenth grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung.
