Abstract

ABSTRAK Pada abad ke-21 pembelajaran tidak hanya berfokus pada penguasaan materi ,tetapi juga pengembangan soft skills seperti kemampuan berpikir kritis. Namun,kemampuan ini masih tergolong rendah akibat pembelajaran yang cenderung didominasi oleh guru.Salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah melalui pendekatan heutagogi yang menekankan kemandirian dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Heutagogy terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII di MTsN 2 Pesawaran. Pendekatan Heutagogy merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik, menekankan pada kemandirian belajar, refleksi, dan kemampuan dalam mengelola proses belajarnya sendiri. Dengan diterapkannya pendekatan ini, diharapkan peserta didik mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara lebih optimal dalam memahami konsep-konsep sains. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif . Jenis penelitian dengan menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperiment (Eksperime semu). Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes keterampilan proses sains untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji hipotesis, yaitu uji signifikansi untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan heutagogy terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan pendekatan heutagogy terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji hipotesis yang memperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000, yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). Dengan demikian, hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H₀) diterima. Artinya, pendekatan heutagogy berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran IPA. However, this ability is still considered low due to a learning approach that tends to be dominated by teachers. One solution to improve these abilities is through a heutagogical approach that emphasizes independence and critical thinking skills of the students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Heutagogy approach on the critical thinking skills of students in Grade VIII science classes at MTsN 2 Pesawaran. The Heutagogy approach is a student-centered learning approach that emphasizes independent learning, reflection, and the ability to manage one's own learning process. By implementing this approach, it is hoped that students will be able to develop their critical thinking skills more optimally in understanding scientific concepts. The research method used is quantitative. The type of research uses the Quasi-Experimental method (semi-experimental). The research subjects were eighth-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instrument was a science process skills test to measure critical thinking skills. Data were analyzed using hypothesis testing, specifically significance testing, to determine the effect of the heutagogy approach on students' critical thinking skills. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a significant effect of the heutagogy approach on students' science process skills. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test results, which yielded a significance value of 0.000, meaning it is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₀) is accepted. This means that the heutagogy approach has a positive effect on improving students' critical thinking skills in science subjects.
