Abstract

ABSTRAK Oleh YOLA APRIA DELLI Penggunaan media sosial Instagram yang berlebihan dapat membuat mahasiswa cenderung menampilkan diri secara berlebihan untuk mendapatkan pengakuan dan pujian. Keadaan ini dipengaruhi oleh harga diri yang tidak stabil dan pola asuh permisif dari orang tua yang memberikan kebebasan tanpa batas, sehingga mahasiswa lebih rentan terhadap tekanan sosial dan gangguan psikologis. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dan pola asuh permisif dengan kecenderungan perilaku narsisme mahasiswa pengguna instagram. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pengguna aktif media sosial instagram. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 252 responden menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu skala Kecenderungan Perilaku Narsisme dengan 25 aitem dan α = 0,892, skala Harga Diri dengan 20 aitem dan α = 0,908, skala Pola Asuh Permisif dengan 25 aitem dan α = 0,892. Metode analisis penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis regresi berganda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara harga diri dan pola asuh permisif dengan kecenderungan perilaku narsisme mahasiswa pengguna instagram. Variable harga diri dan pola asuh permisif memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 97,6% terhadap variable kecenderungan perilaku narsisme. Variable harga diri memberikan sumbangan efektif 65,9% terhadap variable kecenderungan perilaku narsisme, sedangkan variable pola asuh permisif memberikan sumbangan efektif 31,7% terhadap variable kecenderungan perilaku narsisme. Terdapat hubungan negatif signifkan antara harga diri dan kecenderungan perilaku narsisme mahasiswa pengguna instagram dengan nilai koefisien korelasi Rxy= 0,669. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara pola asuh. permisif dengan kecenderungan perilaku narsisme mahasiswa pengguna instagram dengan nilai koefisien Rxy = 0,323. This situation is influenced by unstable self-esteem and permissive parenting styles that allow unlimited freedom, making students more vulnerable to social pressure and psychological disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and permissive parenting styles and the tendency toward narcissistic behavior among Instagram-using students. The population in this study were active Instagram users. A sample of 252 respondents was selected using quantitative methods with a purposive sampling technique. The measurement instruments used were the Narcissistic Behavior Tendency scale (25 items with α = 0.892), the Self-Esteem scale (20 items with α = 0.908), and the Permissive Parenting scale (25 items with α = 0.892). The research analysis method used multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and permissive parenting with the tendency of narcissistic behavior of student Instagram users. The variables of self-esteem and permissive parenting provide an effective contribution of 97,6% to the variable of narcissistic behavior tendencies. The self-esteem variable provides an effective contribution of 65,9% to the variable of narcissistic behavior tendencies, while the permissive parenting variable provides an effective contribution of 31,7% to the variable of narcissistic behavior tendencies. There is a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and narcissistic behavior tendencies of student Instagram users with a correlation coefficient value of Rxy = 0.669. There is a significant positive relationship between permissive parenting patterns and narcissistic behavior tendencies of student Instagram users with a coefficient value of Rxy = 0.323.
