Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the growth of investment interest that has not been matched by a significant increase in the number of investors in the sharia capital market. The sharia capital market is a part of the capital market where all activities, mechanisms, and investment instruments are conducted based on Islamic principles. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of investment understanding, minimum investment capital, and financial technology on investment interest in the sharia capital market in the digital era. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through questionnaires distributed to 342 students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, class of 2020–2021. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 25. The results show that investment understanding has a negative effect on investment interest. The more students understand investment, the more selective they become in choosing investment options. Minimum investment capital and financial technology do not have a effect. Although students are aware that the initial capital is relatively low and fintech is secure, these factors alone are not sufficient to increase investment interest without additional support. Simultaneously, the three variables influence investment interest. The synergy between understanding, access to capital, and technology can increase students’ interest in investing in the sharia capital market. From an Islamic perspective, investment is not only about material gain but also a form of moral responsibility and worship. This is in line with Surah Al-Hasyr verse 18, which emphasizes the importance of muhasabah (self-reflection) in managing wealth as preparation for both worldly life and the hereafter. Keywords: Investment Understanding, Minimum Investment Capital, Financial Technology, Investment Interest, Sharia Capital Market.
