ABSTRACT Way Laga, a region in Lampung Province, Indonesia, has great potential in the industrial sector. In recent years, the rapidly developing industrial sector has transformed the social and economic structure of the community, which previously relied on agriculture and fisheries. Industrial development attracts labor from outside the region, leading to urbanization and changes in behavior patterns. The shift from traditional values and local culture towards an industrial-oriented pragmatic lifestyle affects consumption, lifestyle, social interactions, and perspectives on education and welfare. Based on these issues, the researchers formulated several problem statements, including: What are the social and religious behavior patterns of the community in the industrial area of Way Laga? And what is the impact of industry on the social and religious behavior patterns of the community in the industrial area of Way Laga? The aim of this research is to understand the social behavior patterns and. the religious aspects of the community in the industrial area of Way Laga sub-district. And to understand the impact of industry on the social and religious behavior patterns of the community in the industrial area of Way Laga sub-district. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive nature and employs field research. The sources of data in this study are primary and secondary data. This research uses a sociological and psychological approach, with data collection methods including observation (participatory observation), interviews (unstructured interviews), and documentation. The interviews utilize purposive sampling techniques, consisting of key informants, main informants, and additional informants. The data analysis method in this study employs data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Also, this study uses the theory of Social Action by Max Weber. Based on the research conducted, it is known that the Social Behavior Patterns of the Community in the Way Laga Industrial Area: The Way Laga community continues to uphold harmonious religious social behavior patterns despite changes due to the industrial sector. Activities such as social service, visiting the sick, mutual cooperation, reciting Yasin, communal feasts, Friday prayers in congregation, and routine study groups are still carried out well. The four types of social action according to Weber—traditional, affective, value-rational, and instrumental—are integrated into their lives. Although industrialization brings modern rationality, values, traditions, and emotions still play a role in preserving religious identity. This indicates that industrial modernization does not erase religious values, but transforms their expression to become more complex and adaptive. The Impact of the Industrial Area in the Way Laga Village: The presence of industries brings positive impacts such as the increase of job opportunities, economic income, and Environmental awareness, as well as enriching cultural diversity in Way Laga. However, negative impacts have also emerged, such as social jealousy, economic inequality, pollution, environmental degradation, and decreased social interaction that fosters individualism.
