Abstract
Tahapan penelitian meliputi identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data (studi literatur, wawancara, observasi), perancangan sistem, pengembangan prototipe awal, uji coba, revisi, hingga produk akhir. Kata Kunci: Sistem Informasi, Internet of Things (IoT), Pemantauan Tanah, Kelembaban Tanah, Suhu Tanah, Pertanian Presisi. iii ABSTRACT The agricultural sector in Indonesia faces significant challenges due to climate change and limited access to accurate information regarding soil conditions. Traditional monitoring methods that rely on visual observation are often inefficient and inaccurate, negatively affecting crop yields. This research aims to develop a web-based information system integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time monitoring of soil conditions (moisture and temperature) to assist farmers in making more precise decisions. The system was developed using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a prototype method. The research stages included problem identification, data collection (literature study, interviews, observations), system design, initial prototype development, testing, revision, and final product completion. The hardware components consisted of an ESP32 microcontroller, a capacitive soil moisture sensor (Soil Moisture Sensor v1.2), and a DS18B20 digital temperature sensor. Sensor data was transmitted to the Firebase Realtime Database as cloud-based storage, with the web interface built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The trial conducted in Talang Padang Village, OKU Selatan, for 7 days showed that the system successfully measured, transmitted, and displayed soil temperature and moisture data in real-time and with accuracy. Black Box testing confirmed the system’s functionality according to specifications, including login, real-time monitoring with gauge charts and audio/visual notifications, line chart displays for historical data trends, and a data history feature with export options to Excel/PDF. Positive responses from farmers indicated that the system is highly beneficial for agricultural land management, although reliance on internet connectivity and the need for further sensor calibration remain areas for future development. Keywords: Information System, Internet of Things (IoT), Soil Monitoring, Soil Moisture, Soil Temperature, Precision Agriculture.
