Abstract

ABSTRACT Received: May 20, 2025 Reviewed: June 21, 2025 Edited: June 26, 2025 Accepted: June 30, 2025 The main problem of students' vocabulary learning is the inappropriate use of vocabulary, especially in distinguishing similar vocabulary. Research in vocabulary mastery programs that integrate affective, behavioral, and cognitive approaches is limited, especially in Islamic higher education. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Language Day Program on students' vocabulary mastery by examining the internal and external factors and investigate student’s attitudes based on the ABC Model (Affective, Behavioral, Cognitive). A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was used. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with purposive sampling. The findings show the positive impact of the program on students' vocabulary mastery. Internally, there was an increase in motivation, active participation, confidence, and expression of ideas. Externally, the mentor helps students use vocabulary naturally and contextually. Analysis of the ABC Model showed positive emotional responses, active vocabulary use, and cognitive improvements, despite ongoing challenges in distinguishing synonyms. The novelty of this study lies in analyzing the ABC Model to determine students' attitudes in the context of Islamic education. The study highlights the importance of optimizing Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through authentic input and game-based learning which contributes to and offers directions for future researh.
