This research uses a quantitative approach; it's focused on the effect of sustained silent reading. The researcher uses quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test, experimental and control groups. In this study, it has been found that sustained silent reading has an influence or effect on students' reading comprehension. with the statement of the hypothesis value showing a significance value of F (3,117.170) = 1.253, p = 0.294. With the above criteria, it can be concluded that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, indicating that the data variances are homogeneous across groups. There is a significant effect of Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) on Student Reading Comprehension at Nine Grade of MTs Madinah. In addition to the hypothesis value, which shows that sustained silent reading is significant, the average score of the students also shows that the experimental class is 61,75 pre-test and 75,63 post-test, so it can be confirmed once again that sustained silent reading is significant in the experimental class.
