Abstract

ABSTRAK Berdasarkan hasil pra-penelitian yang dilakukan di SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung diketahui bahwa proses pembelajaran masih kurang bervariasi dan monoton sehingga peserta didik kurang aktif dalam pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan literasi sains peserta didik pada materi bioteknologi. Penelitian ini adalah jenis kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik Purposive sampling dan memperoleh kelas X7 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran SETS sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang diperoleh dari data pretest dan posttest yang dianalisis menggunakan uji MANOVA untuk menjawab hipotesis. Uji normalitas dilakukan dengan uji Kolmogorov Smirnov untuk mengetahui data berdistribusi normal atau tidak. Kemudian uji homogenitas dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Levene Statistic untuk mengetahui data bersifat homogen atau tidak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran SETS terhadapkemampuan berpikir kritis dan literasi sains peserta didik pada materi bioteknologi kelas X di SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung yang ditunjukkan pada nilai sig. <0.001 < 0.05 artinya H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran SETS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan literasi sains peserta didik pada materi bioteknologi. Kata Kunci : Model pembelajaran SETS, kemampuan berpikir kritis, literasi sains iii ABSTRACT Based on the results of pre-research conducted at SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung, it was discovered that the learning process lacked variety and was monotonous, resulting in students being less active in their learning. This study aimed to determine the effect of the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) learning model on students' critical thinking skills and scientific literacy in biotechnology. This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental method. The population was all 10th-grade students at SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung. The sample was drawn using a purposive sampling technique, with class X7 as the experimental class and class X6 as the control class. The experimental class used the SETS learning model, while the control class used the Discovery Learning model. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained from the pretest and posttest data, which were analyzed using the MANOVA test to answer the hypothesis. Normality testing was carried out using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to determine whether the data were normally distributed or not. Then, homogeneity testing was carried out using the Levene Statistic test to determine whether the data were homogeneous or not. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the SETS learning model on students' critical thinking skills and scientific literacy in biotechnology material for grade 10 at SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung, as shown in the sig. <0.001 <0.05, meaning H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This indicates that there is an effect of the SETS learning model on students' critical thinking skills and scientific literacy in biotechnology material.
