Abstract

ABSTRAK Berdasarkan pra-penelitian di MTs Negeri 2 Lampung Utara, diketahui bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik masih rendah karena model pembelajaran belum berfokus pada keterampilan tersebut. Self confidence juga tergolong rendah akibat minimnya ketertarikan dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA, sehingga mereka kesulitan mengemukakan pendapat dan menyimpulkan materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh, korelasi, dan kontribusi model pembelajaran OIDDE berbantu fishbone terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence siswa kelas VII pada mata pelajaran IPA biologi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas VII.6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII.8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal essay kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angket, dan lembar observasi self confidence. Analisis data menggunakan uji t independent, korelasi pearson, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model OIDDE berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence, dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi uji t independent sebesar 0,00 < 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Terdapat korelasi kuat dan positif antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence dengan nilai Pearson 0,745. Nilai R square untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 0,649 dan untuk self confidence sebesar 0,454, yang menunjukkan kontribusi model terhadap kedua variabel tersebut. Kata Kunci: Diagram Fishbone, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Model Pembelajaran OIDDE, Self Confidence. iii ABSTRACT Based on preliminary research conducted at MTs Negeri 2 Lampung Utara, it was found that students' problem-solving abilities were still low due to learning models that had not yet focused on developing these skills. Self-confidence was also relatively low, resulting from the students’ lack of interest and involvement in science learning, which made it difficult for them to express their opinions and draw conclusions. This study aims to determine the influence, correlation, and contribution of the OIDDE learning model assisted by the fishbone diagram on problem-solving ability and self-confidence of seventh-grade students in biology science subjects. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest posttest control group. The sampling technique employed was cluster random sampling, with class VII.6 selected as the experimental group and VII.8 as the control group. The research instruments consisted of essay questions to assess problem-solving skills, questionnaires, and observation sheets for self-confidence. Data analysis techniques included independent t-tests, Pearson correlation tests, and determination coefficient analysis. The results showed that the OIDDE learning model significantly influenced students’ problem-solving skills and self-confidence, as indicated by the independent t-test significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1. A strong and positive correlation was found between problem-solving ability and self-confidence, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.745. The R square value for problem-solving was 0.649 and for self-confidence was 0.454, indicating the model’s contribution to both variables.
