Abstract

ABSTRAK Rendahnya literasi politik masyarakat, dimanfaatkan oleh oknum yang tidak bertanggungjawab dalam menyebarkan informasi yang tidak benar. Oleh karena itu, selain melakukan aktivitas literasi politik bagi masyarakat, pemerintah dan partai politik seharusnya berperan aktif juga dalam membangun kesadaran masyarakat dalam bidang literasi media. Untuk Program literasi di Bawaslu Provinsi program khususnya tidak ada tapi untuk meningkatkan literasi Bawaslu mempunyai gagasan dan acara khusus buat pemaparan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui strategi Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum Provinsi Lampung dalam meningkatkan literasi politik pada Pemilihan Umum Legislatif Tahun 2024. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research). Untuk menganalisa data dilakukan secara kualitatif yaitu prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang yang dapat diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa keadaan literasi politik di Provinsi Lampung masih sangat terbatas hanya pada literasi yang berkaitan dengan proses kepemiluan saja dan belum mencerminkan edukasi yang berorientasi pada penguatan sistem pemahaman dan aktualisasi hak dan kewajiban warga negara. Edukasi politik baru dilakukan oleh Bawaslu melalui kegiatan sosialisasi, bintek dan pendidikan pemilih yang dilaksanakannya dalam rangka agenda tahapan pemilu yang akan digelarnya selaku penyelenggara pemilu. Negara belum memiliki program edukasi untuk peningkatan literasi politik yang sistemik dan berkelanjutan. Pemerintah dan partai politik cenderung belum melaksanakan edukasi politik yang semestinya dan masih membiarkan tugas tersebut hanya dilakukan oleh Bawaslu saja. Kurangnya edukasi politik menuju tingkat pemahaman literasi politik yang semestinya menyebabkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang politik tereduksi hanya pada konteks kepemiluan saja. Dalam edukasi politik Bawaslu berperan dalam menyampaikan informasi tentang event pemilu yang diselenggarakannya dan memberikan pendidikan politik kepada masyarakat yang hanya terbatas pada konteks kepemiluan saja untuk kepentingan peningkatan prosentase voters turned out dan penurunan prosentase suara tidak sah. ABSTRACT The low level of political literacy in the community is exploited by irresponsible individuals in spreading incorrect information. Therefore, in addition to carrying out political literacy activities for the community, the government and political parties should also play an active role in building public awareness in the field of media literacy. For the Literacy Program at the Provincial Bawaslu, there is no special program, but to improve literacy, Bawaslu has special ideas and events for presentations. The purpose of the study was to determine the strategy of the Lampung Provincial Election Supervisory Body in improving political literacy in the 2024 Legislative Election. This type of research is field research. To analyze the data, qualitative research is carried out, namely research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people who can be observed. The results of the study show that the state of political literacy in Lampung Province is still very limited to literacy related to the election process alone and does not reflect education that is oriented towards strengthening the system of understanding and actualizing the rights and obligations of citizens. Political education has only been carried out by Bawaslu through socialization activities, technical guidance and voter education which it carries out in the context of the election stages agenda that it will hold as the election organizer. The country does not yet have an education program to improve systemic and sustainable political literacy. The government and political parties tend not to implement proper political education and still leave the task to be carried out only by Bawaslu. The lack of political education towards the proper level of understanding of political literacy has reduced public knowledge about politics to only the context of elections. In political education, Bawaslu plays a role in conveying information about the election events it organizes and providing political education to the public that is only limited to the context of elections for the benefit of increasing the percentage of voters turned out and reducing the percentage of invalid votes.
