Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemajuan teknologi membuat masyarakat dapat memperoleh berbagai macam informasi dengan mudah. Ada banyak media pencarian informasi yang tersedia, meliputi: televisi, koran, majalah, radio maupun internet. Bagi masyarakat munculnya media-media baru merupakan harapan baru untuk memperoleh informasi yang akurat, faktual, berimbang dan selalu menerapkan nilai kejujuran. Hal ini tentunya hanya dapat terwujud apabila seorang wartawan dapat bekerja secara profesionalisme dalam memperoleh, mengolah dan menyebarluaskan informasi tersebut. Kode etik jurnalistik merupakan pedoman yang sangat penting bagi wartawan dalam menjalankan tugas jurnalistiknya. Penerapan kode etik jurnalistik yang baik dapat meningkatkan kredibilitas dan akuntabilitas media, serta memastikan bahwa informasi yang disajikan kepada masyarakat adalah akurat dan objektif. Wartawan Tribun Lampung, sebagai salah satu media online terkemuka di Lampung, menghadapi tantangan dalam menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik. Penelitian ini Berjenis penelitian lapangan (field research). Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif yakni suatu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menerangkan fenomena sosial atau suatu peristiwa. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini penulis bertemu langsung dengan Wartawan dan Pemimpin Redaksi Tribun Lampung yang bertugas dalam pemberitaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: wartawan Tribun Lampung telah menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik sesuai dengan aturan, namun masih terdapat beberapa poin yang belum diterapkan sepenuhnya. Faktor kendalanya seperti waktu, tempat, ancaman/intimidasi, dan kurang independen menjadi kendala dalam penerapan kode etik jurnalistik. Namun, terdapat juga faktor pendukung seperti pelatihan kompetensi kewartawanan, pihak internal jajaran redaksi, dan sikap profesionalitas yang dapat membantu wartawan Tribun Lampung dalam menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi wartawan untuk terus meningkatkan pemahaman dan penerapan kode etik jurnalistik guna menjaga profesionalitas dan kepentingan publik. For the public, the emergence of new media is a new hope for obtaining accurate, factual, balanced information and always implementing honesty values. This can of course only be realized if a journalist can work professionally in obtaining, processing and disseminating the information. The journalistic code of ethics is a very important guideline for journalists in carrying out their journalistic duties. The implementation of a good journalistic code of ethics can increase the credibility and accountability of the media, and ensure that the information presented to the public is accurate and objective. Tribun Lampung journalists, as one of the leading online media in Lampung, face challenges in implementing the journalistic code of ethics. This research is a field research. This research is qualitative, namely a study that aims to explain social phenomena or an event. In conducting this research, the author met directly with the journalists and editors-in-chief of Tribun Lampung who are in charge of reporting. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: Tribun Lampung journalists have implemented the journalistic code of ethics in accordance with the rules, but there are still several points that have not been fully implemented. Constraining factors such as time, place, threats/intimidation, and lack of independence are obstacles in implementing the journalistic code of ethics. However, there are also supporting factors such as journalistic competency training, internal editorial staff, and professional attitudes that can help Tribun Lampung journalists implement the journalistic code of ethics properly. Therefore, it is important for journalists to continue to improve their understanding and application of the journalistic code of ethics in order to maintain professionalism and public interest.
