Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Peneliti memilih model pembelajaran Self Directed Learning untuk mengatasi rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Self Directed Learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen, karena ada pengaruh (treatment/perlakuan) yang diberikan dan desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII D yang berjumlah 30 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII G yang berjumlah 30 peserta didik sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Self Directed Learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung. Dari hasil N-Gain menunjukan nilai rata-rata skor N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 0,85 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol yaitu sebesar 0,66 termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Sedangkan hasil uji t sampel independen terhadap nilai N Gain yaitu 0,00 < 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Self Directed Learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis pada peserta didik kelas VIII MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2024/2025. Researchers chose the Self Directed Learning learning model to overcome students' low critical thinking skills. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an influence of the Self Directed Learning learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quantitative type of quasi-experimental research, because there is influence (treatment) given and the design used is a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all class VIII students at MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung. The sample from this research was class VIII D, totaling 30 students as the experimental class and class VIII G, totaling 30 students, as the control class. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the Self Directed Learning learning model on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung. The N-Gain results show that the average N-Gain score in the experimental class is 0.85, which is in the high category, while the average value in the control class is 0.66, which is in the medium category. The increase in critical thinking skills of experimental class students was higher than that of the control class. Meanwhile, the results of the independent sample t test on the N-Gain value are 0.00 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Self Directed Learning model on critical thinking skills in class VIII students at MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung in the 2024/2025 academic year.
