Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted to determine the significant influence of using the ELSA Speak application on the pronunciation mastery of seventh grade students one of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2024/2025. Pronunciation is one of the challenges students face when learning English. Students are unaware of the proper articulation and phonetic rules for pronouncing vowels and consonants sounds, and lack of speaking practice is one of the factors that causes students to have difficulty learning English. This research use a quantitative research method with a quasi�experimental design approach. The researcher use a random sampling technique to determine the research sample. The population of this research was 110 students. The sample was 50 students that taken from two classes VII Talent B as experimental class and VII Talent A as control class. The data collecting technique used pre-test and post�test. The data analysis used validity and reliability of instruments. Based on the results of data analysis with SPSS calculations, Sig. = 0.30 was obtained. This show that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted because Sig. < 0.05 and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Therefore, there is a significant influence of using the ELSA Speak application on the pronunciation mastery of seventh grade students one of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2024/2025.
