Abstract

ABSTRAK Kecemasan masa depan adalah kekhawatiran, ketakutan terkait masa depan dan ketidakpastian terhadap perubahan-perubahan yang tidak diinginkan. Faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kecemasan masa depan dari penelitian ini adalah fear of failure dan dukungan teman sebaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara fear of failure dan dukungan teman sebaya dengan kecemasan masa depan pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Institut Teknologi Sumatera dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini didapatkan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh sebanyak 150 mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tiga skala, yaitu skala kecemasan masa depan berjumlah 14 aitem (α = 0.761), skala fear of failure berjumlah 20 aitem (α = 0.758) dan skala dukungan teman sebaya berjumlah 34 aitem (α = 0.754). Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dengan bantuan software JASP 0.16.1.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai R = 0.377 dengan signifikan p = 0.001 (p < 0.01), artinya terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara fear of failure dan dukungan teman sebaya dengan kecemasan masa depan pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 14.2% (R² = 0,142). Sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Kata kunci: Kecemasan Masa Depan, Fear Of Failure dan Dukungan Teman Sebaya. ABSTRAK Future anxiety is the worry, fear related to the future, and uncertainty about unwanted changes. Factors that can influence future anxiety in this study are fear of failure and peer support. This study aims to determine the relationship between fear of failure and peer support with future anxiety in final-year students. The population in this study consists of final-year students at the Institut Teknologi Sumatera using a quantitative method. The participants in this study were obtained using purposive sampling techniques, resulting in a total of 150 final-year students. Data collection techniques used three scales: a future anxiety scale consisting of 14 items (α = 0.761), a fear of failure scale consisting of 20 items (α = 0.758), and a peer support scale consisting of 34 items (α = 0.754). Data analysis techniques in this study used multiple regression analysis with the help of JASP 0.16.1.0 software for Windows. The results of this study showed an R value = 0.377 with significance p = 0.001 (p < 0.01), meaning there is a significant positive relationship between fear of failure and peer support with future anxiety in final-year students, with an effective contribution of 14.2% (R² = 0,142).
