Abstract

ABSTRAK Tradisi Bedikekh merupakan salah satu warisan budaya Lampung yang memiliki nilai spiritual, sosial, dan budaya yang tinggi, khususnya di Pekon Way Sindi Hanuan, Kecamatan Karya Penggawa, Kabupaten Pesisir Barat. Namun, seiring dengan perkembangan zaman dan modernisasi, minat serta partisipasi masyarakat, terutama generasi muda, dalam melestarikan Tradisi ini semakin menurun. Hal ini memunculkan kekhawatiran terhadap kelangsungan Tradisi Bedikekh yang berisiko hilang jika tidak ada upaya serius untuk melestarikannya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi komunikasi yang efektif untuk menjaga dan mempromosikan kembali nilai-nilai Tradisi ini di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh tokoh adat dan pemimpin komunitas dalam pelestarian Tradisi Bedikekh, dengan memfokuskan pada bagaimana mereka menyampaikan pesan, memilih media, serta memotivasi masyarakat untuk terus menjaga keberlangsungan Tradisi tersebut. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian field research yaitu penelitian lapangan. Sifat penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun sumber data primer dari penelitian ini adalah tokoh adat Tradisi Bedikeh, anggota Bedikekh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan data sekunder merupakan data-data mengenai Tradisi tersebut. Teknik Pengumpulan Data dalam penelitian yaitu melalui, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang di gunakan yaitu Miles&Huberman melalui, reduksi data penyajian data serta penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil temuan yang peneliti dapatkan bahwa Strategi Komunikasi Dalam Melestarikan Tradisi Bedikekh di Pekon Way Sindi Hanuan, Pesisir Barat menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan teori komunikasi, tahapan-tahapan yang meliputi mengenal khalayak, menyusun pesan, memilih metode, serta menggunakan media yang tepat telah membantu menyampaikan nilai-nilai dan makna dari Tradisi Bedikekh secara efektif. Dengan pendekatan yang sesuai, seperti edukasi mengenai sejarah dan filosofi Tradisi, serta penggunaan media sosial dan pertemuan Pekon, tokoh adat berhasil menciptakan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam menjaga warisan budaya mereka. teori Lasswell juga memberikan panduan dalam merumuskan peran komunikator, pesan, media, komunikan, serta dampak yang diharapkan, yang semuanya berkontribusi pada keberhasilan pelestarian Tradisi ini. Dari segi tujuan strategi komunikasi, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh adat tidak hanya berhasil memberi tahu masyarakat tentang pelaksanaan Tradisi, tetapi juga mendidik dan memotivasi generasi muda untuk aktif terlibat. Dengan menyebarkan informasi secara luas dan mendukung pembuatan keputusan yang melibatkan seluruh komunitas, Tradisi Bedikekh dapat bertahan dan berkembang di tengah tantangan modernisasi. Efek yang diharapkan, yakni peningkatan pemahaman dan partisipasi masyarakat, tercapai melalui strategi komunikasi yang terencana dan terstruktur, yang memastikan bahwa Tradisi Bedikekh tetap menjadi bagian integral dari identitas budaya masyarakat Way Sindi Hanuan. ABSTRACT The Bedikekh tradition is one of Lampung's cultural heritages that has high spiritual, social, and cultural values, especially in Way Sindi Hanuan Village, Karya Penggawa District, Pesisir Barat Regency. However, along with the development of the era and modernization, the interest and participation of the community, especially the younger generation, in preserving this tradition has decreased. This raises concerns about the sustainability of the Bedikekh tradition which is at risk of disappearing if there is no serious effort to preserve it. Therefore, an effective communication strategy is needed to maintain and re-promote the values of this tradition in the community. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies carried out by traditional figures and community leaders in preserving the Bedikekh tradition, by focusing on how they convey messages, choose media, and motivate the community to continue to maintain the sustainability of the tradition. This research method uses a qualitative method. The type of research is field research, namely field research. The nature of qualitative descriptive research. The primary data source of this study is the traditional figure of the Bedikeh Tradition, members of Bedikekh using purposive sampling techniques and secondary data is data about the Tradition. Data Collection Techniques in the study are through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is Miles & Huberman through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The findings obtained by the researcher are that the Communication Strategy in Preserving the Bedikekh Tradition in Pekon Way Sindi Hanuan, Pesisir Barat shows that based on communication theory, the stages that include knowing the audience, composing messages, choosing methods, and using the right media have helped convey the values and meanings of the Bedikekh Tradition effectively. With the right approach, such as education about the history and philosophy of the Tradition, as well as the use of social media and Pekon meetings, traditional leaders have succeeded in creating awareness and community participation in preserving their cultural heritage. Lasswell's theory also provides guidance in formulating the role of communicators, messages, media, communicants, and the expected impacts, all of which contribute to the success of preserving this Tradition. In terms of the objectives of the communication strategy, this study shows that traditional leaders have not only succeeded in informing the community about the implementation of the Tradition, but also educating and motivating the younger generation to be actively involved. By disseminating information widely and supporting decision-making that involves the entire community, the Bedikekh Tradition can survive and thrive amidst the challenges of modernization. The desired effect, namely increased community understanding and participation, is achieved through a planned and structured communication strategy, which ensures that the Bedikekh Tradition remains an integral part of the cultural identity of the Way Sindi Hanuan community.
