Abstract

ABSTRACT Taboo is a word used by someone to convey emotions to the hearer. Some of people consider taboo is a forbidden word to say to anyone, because it is not polite.. The meaning of taboo words itself depend on the context and situation. This research has two objectives. First, what are the types of Taboo words based on the target in movie script “Deadpool 2, Death Race (Beyond Anarchy), and Suicide Squad 2” ? and second what are the language functions of Taboo words found in movie script “Deadpool 2, Death Race (Beyond Anarchy), and Suicide Squad 2 ” ?. This research uses two theories, they are, Batistella and Ronald Wardaugh. In this research, the researcher uses content analysis method in analysing the taboo words in Deadpool 2, Death Race (Beyond Anarchy), and Suicide Squad 2 movie script. The procedures of the research are: first, he watches the movie. Second, after watches the movie the writer search the movie script and then he classifies the taboo words into tables. The last, after classifying and making the table, the writer disscusses and analyses the taboo words. Based on the analysis, the researcher finds There are 8 (eight) data indicated as a Epithet, 2 (two) data indicates as a Profanity, 12 (twelve) data indicated as a Vulgarity, and 11 (eleven) data indicated as a Obscenity. And total of the data is 33 (thirty-three) data indicated as types of Taboo words and There are 15 (fifteen) data indicates as a To Draw Attention, 11 (eleven) data indicated as a To Show Contempt, 7 ( seven) data indicated as a To be Provocative, and 0 data indicated as a To Mock Authority. And tottal data is 39 (thirty-nine) data indicates as a functions of Taboo words. Keywords: Sociolingustics, Taboo Words, Movie.
