Abstract

ABSTRAK Anak Tunanetra yang ada di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung memiliki cara dan sikap yang negatif dan keliru dalam hal memandang dirinya sendiri dan orang lain, pandangan atau perspektif diri meliputi aspek fisik maupun psikis, seperti mengenal karakteristik individu itu sendiri, tingkah laku atau perbuatannya, kemampuan dirinya, dan sebagainya hal ini bisa disebut dengan self esteem, apabila hal itu terjadi maka individu akan sulit menjalankan proses kehidupan untuk mencapai kesuksesan di masa yang akan datang. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pelaksanaan konseling individu dalam meningkatkan self esteem remaja tunanetra di Sekolah Luar Biasa A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data primer dengan teknik purposive sampling yang berjumlah 9 orang, terdiri dari 5 orang anak tunanetra yang memiliki permasalahan perihal self esteem, 1 orang konselor dan 3 guru pendamping anak tunanetra. Sedangkan sumber data sekunder dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari buku, dokumen, internet dan jurnal. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitin ini adalah model analisis data yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan pengambilan keputusan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwasannya pelaksanaan konseling individu dalam meningkatkan self esteem pada anak tunanetra di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung, yaitu: 1) Tahap awal, dimulai dari pengenalan antara anak tunanetra dan konselor, konselor membangun hubungan awal yang baik yang bertujuan untuk membangun rasa percaya anak tunanetra terhadap konselor. 2) Tahap pertengahan (tahaap kerja) yaitu tahap kegiatan konseling, pada tahap ini konselor mulai memperdalam permasalahan self esteem yang dialami anak tunanetra secara lebih rinci dan mulai membangun pernyataan-pernytaan yang diungkapkan oleh anak tunanetra. 3) Tahap akhir, konseling pada tahapan ini diberikannya konseling individu, dan untuk meninjau kembali apakah proses konseling sudah sesuai dan berjalan dengan semestinya dan pada tahap akhir terdapat evaluasi pada tahap ini adalah menilai dan melihat perubahan baik apa saja yang terjadi pada anak tunanetra setelah diberikannya konseling individu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan konseling individu dalam meningkatkan self esteem remaja tunanetra di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung telah berhasil dilakukan dan mendapat hasil yang positif walaupun membutuhkan proses yang sedikit lebih lama. Kata Kunci : Konseling Individu, Self Esteem Remaja Tunanetra.ABSTRACT Blind children in Special School (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung have negative and wrong ways and attitudes in terms of viewing themselves and others, views or perspectives of self include physical and psychological aspects, such as recognizing the characteristics of the individual himself, his behavior or actions, his abilities, and so on this can be called self-esteem, if that happens then the individual will find it difficult to carry out the life process to achieve success in the future. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to implement individual counseling in improving the self-esteem of blind adolescents in Special School A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung. This type of research is field research which is descriptive qualitative. Primary data sources with purposive sampling techniques totaling 9 people, consisting of 5 blind children who have problems regarding self-esteem, 1 counselor and 3 teachers accompanying blind children. While secondary data sources in this study were obtained from books, documents, the internet and journals. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a data analysis model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and decision making. The results of this study are that the implementation of individual counseling in improving self-esteem in blind children at the Special School (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung, namely: 1) The initial stage, starting from the introduction between the blind child and the counselor, the counselor builds a good initial relationship that aims to build trust in the blind child towards the counselor. 2) The middle stage (work stage) is the counseling activitystage, at this stage the counselor begins to deepen the self-esteem problems experienced by the blind child in more detail and begins to build statements expressed by the blind child. 3) The final stage, counseling at this stage is conducted research whether there are good and positive changes in blind children after being given individual counseling, and to review whether the counseling process is appropriate and running properly and at the final stage there is an evaluation at this stage is to assess and see what good changes occur in blind children after being given individual counseling. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of individual counseling in improving self-esteem of blind adolescents at the Special School (SLB) A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung has been successfully carried out and has obtained positive results even though it requires a slightly longer process.
