Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF THE MORAL MESSAGE IN SONG LYRICS IN “A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS” ALBUM BY COLDPLAY By Nur Andini Munawaroh Exploring Moral Messages in Song Lyrics: A Study of "A Head Full of Dreams" Album by Coldplay. In this study, the importance of using music, specifically song lyrics, as a tool for conveying moral messages is highlighted. Music has the ability to evoke emotions and make learning enjoyable and fun. The research focuses on how songs can aid language acquisition, communication, and student activities in the English language. Through the analysis of lyrics, the study uncovers various moral messages such as bravery, self-confidence, love and affection, loyalty, perseverance, sincerity, strong belief, and sacrifice for others in the songs from the album. These messages promote positive values and encourage listeners to stay optimistic and resilient in the face of challenges. The study also suggests that music is a powerful means of communication, allowing artists to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas to listeners. From the research provide insight for teachers to use innovative teaching strategies, such as incorporating song lyrics in lessons. Future researchers are encouraged to explore different theories and song lyrics to further understand the impact of music on conveying moral messages. Overall, this study offers a deeper understanding of the moral messages embedded in song lyrics, emphasizing the importance of music in delivering positive values to listeners. This findings from this research are 9 data for bravery type, 4 data for self- confidence, 7 data for love and affection, 3 data for loyalty, 18 data for perseverance type, 4 data for sincerity, 8 data for strong belief, and 2 data for sacrifice for other types 55 lyrics from all in 5 songs which contain a moral message.
