Abstract

ABSTARCT Speaking is an essential part of language learning. Through speaking, students can express their feeling and express what they want to say to the listener in spoken form. It also gives the students a chance to express their ideas and opinions with others. In speaking learning, many students still found difficulties. Therefore, the researcher used the Think-Pair-Share Method to made it easier for students. Proposed by Lyman Think-Pair-Share consists of three steps. They are: think, pair and share. The procedure that used in Think-Pair�Share able to give students more time to think, response and help each other. The researcher used quasi-experimental design. The population of this research was the seventh-grade students of SMPN 1 Seputih Agung Central Lampung. The sample was taken from two classes VII H as experimental class and VII G as control class. In collecting the data, researcher used instruments pre-test and post-test. After giving the post-test, the writer analyzed it by using SPSS 25 (Statistical Package for Social Science). After analyzed the data, based on the result in the independent sample t-test the value of significant generated sig. (pvalue) = 0.000 < α = 0.05. It can be concluded that H0 directed and Ha accepted. It can be inferred that there was a significant influence of Think-Pair-Share method towards students speaking skill for seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Seputih Agung Central Lampung.
